Welcome to Junior High Math!
My name is Tara Henley, and this will be my 16th year teaching. This will be my 5th year teaching at St. John Regional School. Prior to teaching at SJRS, I taught at David R. Cawley Middle School in Hooksett and I was a long term substitute at St. Joseph Regional School in Keene.
A few things about me:
- I am a wicked math nerd. You wouldn’t expect anything less from the person teaching you math, right? I was not always good at math. In fact, I hated math when I was in elementary school. It was not something that I understood because I was never taught why the math works. Once I was in middle school, I had an amazing math teacher who opened my eyes to the beauty that is mathematics.
- I went to Keene State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education (5-8). I recently earned my Masters Degree in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction (K-14) from Concordia University.
- I am married to a wonderful man who works as a Firefighter/EMT and am the mother of two children. My children both attend SJRS.
- I absolutely love to read. I really enjoy the Harry Potter series and am currently working my way through Rick Riordan’s series as we speak. You will find a plethora of books in my classroom that you are welcome to borrow.
